Localization, localization, and localization.

It’s a website for the Chinese market, but the design and development is in the United States. The design is not just purely translation, but culture and locale, let alone there wasn’t a set style guide to copy from.


Many design explorations, competitive analysis, focus groups, and usability testing were conducted to understand the local users and to test the design iterations. A research team was formed in China with close collaboration with the design and development team in the States, and we were able to quickly iterate on the interaction design solutions according to the user research findings from the local users.
